The Wild Honeybees To Jazz Up Memorial Auditorium

Ohio University is once again hosting The Wild Honeybees in Memorial Auditorium, providing anyone in the Athens community the experience to party like they’re in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

If Fest Season isn’t for you, dance the night away with the music of The Wild Honeybees and special guest The Largemouth Brass Band. The Wild Honeybees say it’ll be a party no one will be able to find outside of New Orleans. Even if dancing isn’t your style, the bluesy, R&B music as well as New Orleans style culinary cuisine is sure to light up your night and make it one to never forget.

The Wild Honeybees said the event this year is extra special because they are releasing their new recording, You Can Dance to This Beat. The group consists of nine members and describes themselves as an R&B dance band with a New Orleans style, devoted to making live horn sections part of the dance stage again. They have been voted Best Band in Athens for three years straight by the Athens News Readers Poll and awarded Athens News Readers Polls Best Performer in 2014.

The Largemouth Brass Band is a seven-member group of up-and-coming musicians eager to make a name for themselves. They released their first full-length album consisting of genres ranging from New Orleans style music to video game sound tracks in December 2018.

The event takes place Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ohio University Memorial Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased here: https://bit.ly/2RNEWfr or at the door. They are five dollars for students and seven dollars for general admission.
