Unpacking positive mental effects of outdoor activity

It has been long recognized that being in the outdoors has a positive affect on mental and physical health. Evidence shows that being outside helps lower blood pressure, reduce heart rate and generally improve moods. During the Coronavirus lockdown people sacrificed to make sure that we kept those in need safe. People spent more time inside, more time on social media and more time packing in their emotions.

I want to unpack those feelings. I asked five people what being outside meant to them. From golf to hiking to horse riding I investigated why people are drawn to these activities, and how people are benefitting from them every day.
