Love is in the air today in uptown Athens as businesses up and down Court Street and beyond prepare for Valentine’s Day traffic by offering romantic, one-day only, specials.
Be sure to get a good stretch in before any romantic events with a “Heart Warming Slow Flow” yoga session at Athens Yoga Studio at 77 E. State St. starting at 6:45 p.m. Namaste.
There’s no more classic romantic evening than dinner and a movie. Knowing that, the Athena Cinema at 20 S. Court St. is holding a screening of the cult classic Harold and Maude at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Let’s all go the lobby.
And for dinner, what could be more romantic than a classy, Italian meal with your beloved? Franco’s Pizza at 42 S. Court St. is offering $1 thick slices, as opposed to its normal thin crust, New York style slices, on this lovely day.
Now it’s time to exercise off those pizza slices and heart-shaped chocolates. What better way to melt off the pounds than dancing? The Union Bar at 18 W. Union St. is having a “Ballumtines Day Bash” featuring perfomances by Slut Castle, Harlot, Eric Lewandowski “and more!” according to the venue’s Facebook page.
